A Talk on Non-duality: Meditation – Less Thought, More Light
As long as our mind is brimful with worldly preoccupations, the inner secret of happiness does not reveal itself.
But when we turn within in meaningful quietude, we connect with the ultimate light of our being, and find the path to true freedom.
A talk on meditation, as it is practiced in the light of the non-dual teachings on the path to inner illumination.
Registration is not required, but it will help us with organisation to know that you are thinking of coming. Thanks for letting us know!
7pm Thursday 27 February 2020
29 Chepstow Villas
London W11 3DR (map)
The talk begins at 7pm and lasts about 50 minutes. No previous knowledge of non-duality or meditation is assumed, although it will include content that will be of interest to those who have studied non-duality (Advaita) before.
Admission free and everyone is welcome.
(Please note that the meetings would not be of interest to children.)
Non-duality (in Sanskrit, Advaita Vedanta) is a way of understanding the world and ourselves, closely connected with practical methods of gaining a deeper Self-knowledge and new sources of fulfilment.
Another talk coming up
Thursday 12 March 2020
Essentials of the Non-dual Teachings
Nonduality is not so much a philosophy as an understanding of our experience here and now. The teachings, being universal, are open to everyone. They provide a way of practice and inner enquiry that leads to a definite goal—inner illumination.
This talk will be given by the Warden of Shanti Sadan.
