| The volume contains two long chapters. The first, Chapter X of the Source Book, examines the incomplete or erroneous theories which took the Veda or Smriti as their starting-point. Chapter XI refutes rationalist theories whether (as in the case of the Sankhyas and Vaisheshikas) they paid lip-service to the Veda, or whether (as in the case of the Materialists, Buddhists and Jainas) they attacked it.
